PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas has chosen Bounty Killa - Sufferer as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Makungu.
Makungu misses with a low kick.
Makungu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Douglas's calf.
Douglas wants to clinch up but Makungu keeps it at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Douglas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Douglas shoots in looking for a takedown. Makungu tries to sprawl out of it but Douglas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makungu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Douglas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Douglas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Makungu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Makungu tries to buck Douglas off but Douglas is having none of it.
Makungu can't do much from the bottom here.
Douglas tries to move to mount but Makungu blocks the move with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Makungu is looking for a sweep.
Makungu regains half guard.

Douglas is looking for a kimura but Makungu is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Douglas to get the leverage.
Makungu gets back to full guard.
Douglas won't allow Makungu to sweep him here.

Makungu is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Douglas has his hands clasped together but Makungu extends an breaks Douglas's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Makungu.
