Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Strader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaxson Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Strader might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sick Puppies-You're Going Down. Powers has chosen "Chase That Feeling" by Hilltop Hoods as his entrance music. Jaxson Powers will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers tries to clinch but Strader moves out of range.

Strader drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Strader advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strader is working for a kimura but Powers is defending it quite comfortably.

Powers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strader. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Powers is looking for a sweep. Strader is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Powers tries for a takedown but Strader sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Powers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Strader feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Strader drops back looking for a leg! Powers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Powers manages to kick Strader off! Strader jumps back into Powers's guard.

Strader is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Powers is defending well though. Strader let's go of the attempt for now.
Powers manages to reverse the position and now he's in Strader's guard. Nice work there by Powers.
Strader might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Strader had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Powers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Strader Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Powers's back instead.

Strader is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Powers with him. Powers is trying to defend but Strader has an arm under the chin now! Powers grimaces and is forced to tap out!
