The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowak shoots in for a double leg but Pietravallo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nice uppercut there from Pietravallo.
Nowak moves in looking to clinch but Pietravallo pushes him off.
Pietravallo scores with a leg kick.
Nowak should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nowak tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pietravallo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Pietravallo - that will leave a mark!

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pietravallo, right into the meat.
Pietravallo lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nowak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pietravallo's waist but Pietravallo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nowak off to one side.
Nowak takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A cross from Pietravallo lands.
Nowak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pietravallo sprawls well. Pietravallo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nowak gets slowly back to his feet.
Giampaolo Pietravallo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Szymon Nowak .
Nowak on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Pietravallo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Nice straight punches there by Pietravallo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pietravallo.
Nowak takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pietravallo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Nowak on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pietravallo. Pietravallo obviously looking to wear him down.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nowak looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pietravallo is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Nowak takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pietravallo's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nowak under the eye.
Nowak looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Pietravallo cracks the inside of Nowak 's front leg.
Pietravallo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nowak at a distance.

Pietravallo gets a takedown into half guard.

Pietravallo is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

It looks like Szymon Nowak has been cut.
Pietravallo lands a big shot there that rocks Nowak but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The cut above Szymon Nowak 's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Pietravallo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pietravallo softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Nowak is out cold! Pietravallo jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
