The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hewson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McGee darts in trying to clinch
and Hewson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
McGee tries to clinch up
and Hewson counters with a nice body shot.
Hewson misses with a straight left.
Hewson swats away the attempt to clinch by McGee.

Hewson throws a hook but McGee blocks it.
The crowd cheers as Hewson lands an impressive looking overhand right. McGee doesn't seem phased though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Hewson counters with a nice uppercut.
McGee throws a sloppy head kick and Hewson moves out of range easily.

McGee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McGee takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hewson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hewson jabs McGee to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hewson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McGee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
McGee wants to clinch up but Hewson keeps it at a distance.

Nice uppercut lands for Hewson. That snapped McGee's head back.

McGee tries to close the distance and clinch but Hewson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McGee dives in and grabs Hewson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hewson pushes down on McGee's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big McGee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

McGee is looking to clinch but Hewson is avoiding it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
McGee tries to close the distance and clinch but Hewson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hewson throws out a loose jab but McGee uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGee has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McGee there as he acknowledges the shot.

McGee doesn't manage to clinch there - Hewson circles away.

enabling Hewson to counter with a crisp jab.
McGee is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hewson connects with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hewson. McGee does a little dance to reset his feet.
McGee takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hewson scores with a decent looking hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McGee fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hewson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McGee on the side of the head.

Oh McGee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hewson throws a hook but McGee avoids it easily.

McGee tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hewson is able to avoid easily.
Hewson drops McGee with a straight left! Oh this is bad for McGee! Hewson dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
