Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Sathanasios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Weimar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weimar has chosen Steve Vai - Bad Horsie as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Franz Weimar!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sathanasios lands a nice looking body shot.
Sathanasios throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Weimar's head.
Sathanasios looks to land a combination but Weimar avoids it well.

Weimar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Weimar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sathanasios wants to get up but he can't break Weimar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Weimar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sathanasios defends well.

Weimar stands and throws Sathanasios's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Weimar wants to control but Sathanasios is keeping him busy.
Weimar winds up and cracks Sathanasios with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sathanasios pushes Weimar off looking to stand but Weimar dives back in and keeps control.

Weimar has hold of Sathanasios's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sathanasios manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Sathanasios is in a horrible position here. Weimar smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

An out of breath Franz Weimar thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
