Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Hare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucio Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares has chosen Three 6 Mafia - It's A Fight as his entrance music. Jimmy Hare has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Hare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucio Palhares! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palhares drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Palhares advances to half guard. Hare looking for submissions off his back. Hare wants to get back to full guard. Hare is not content to let Palhares control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hare gets full guard. Palhares postures up.
Palhares stopping the sweep attempt from Hare. Palhares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hare swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hare throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hare clinches up with Palhares and pushes him back against the cage. Palhares tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hare just stands there and leans against the cage. Hare manages to pull guard.
Hare is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palhares pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hare is keeping the position for now. Palhares controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hare is looking for a triangle but Palhares pushes his legs off easily.
Hare can't keep his opponent in guard - Palhares advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Palhares wants to take a breather but Hare is having none of it. Palhares works his foot free and advances to mount. Hare working to try and regain half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hare is working hard here to advance position. Hare is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Palhares throws some wild stikes that Hare manages to avoid easily.
Palhares goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hare turns into him and now he's in Palhares's guard.
Hare tries to free his leg and advance position but Palhares is retaining full guard. Hare is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Palhares is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Palhares has escaped and now he's on top! Hare working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palhares doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palhares manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hare keeping full guard, as Palhares tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hare is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Palhares wants to stand but Hare is controlling his posture from full guard. Palhares drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Palhares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hare looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hare wants to stand up but Palhares is controlling him. Hare keeping moving, preventing Palhares from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hare trying to keep a closed guard but Palhares is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hare shoots in and bounces Palhares off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hare stands up from Palhares's guard - Hare perhaps looking for a knockout. Hare tries for a takedown but Palhares circles away easily and Palhares holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hare stops a takedown attempt from Palhares.
Hare unloads a knee to the mid-section. Palhares lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Palhares drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hare pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jimmy Hare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucio Palhares. Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hare has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Palhares is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Hare will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Palhares has control of Hare's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hare regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Palhares looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Hare is looking to improve his position but Palhares isn't that keen on the idea. Palhares fails to move to back control. Hare sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Hare moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Palhares is breathing heavily. Hare is looking for a triangle but Palhares pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palhares thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hare is looking for a triangle but Palhares pushes his legs off easily.
Palhares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hare swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hare working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palhares doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palhares manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Palhares sitting in guard here, content to control. Palhares slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hare manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palhares frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hare can't escape the position.
Palhares tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Palhares looking for a guillotine from mount but Hare is having none of it. Palhares seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Hare is holding on tight.
Palhares looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Hare is trying to stand. Palhares looking to secure an arm triangle but Hare defends it well. Palhares working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hare turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Palhares off and cradles Hare's limp body as Palhares celebrates with his corner.
