Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zane Peltier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peltier comes to the cage accompanied by Rockstar-Chamillionaire. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zane Peltier!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donnie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson lands a lovely overhand right.
Peltier slips a straight right by Jackson.
Jackson doesn't manage to clinch there - Peltier circles away.
Peltier defending well as Jackson loads up on a big left hand.
Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peltier moves away.
Jackson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Peltier back to the cage. Jackson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Jackson blocks a low kick nicely.
Peltier fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jackson tries to clinch up
and Peltier makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Jackson moves out of range of the body kick.
Peltier fails with a takedown attempt.
Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Peltier.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zane Peltier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jackson looks to land a right hand but Peltier moved out of range.
Peltier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jackson moves away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Jackson darts in and clinches Peltier up against the cage.
Jackson has a couple of punches blocked by Peltier.

Jackson pulls guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Peltier passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Peltier drops an elbow to the side of Jackson's head.
Peltier thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head.
Jackson is trying to stand up here but Peltier is controlling him well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Peltier lands a nice short elbow.

Peltier is trying to work for a kimura but Jackson is defending well.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peltier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peltier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peltier's guard.

Peltier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peltier's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Peltier is retaining full guard.

Donnie Jackson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peltier moves away.
Jackson connects with a body shot.
Jackson throws a right hand that Peltier ducks under and follows up with a left that Peltier also avoids with ease.
Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Peltier.
Peltier throws a body kick that misses.
Nice sprawl there from Jackson as Peltier shoots in.
Peltier dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Jackson darts in trying to clinch
and Peltier makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Peltier will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson throws a hook but Peltier avoids it easily.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Peltier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson throws a lazy right hand but Peltier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Peltier shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Peltier distracts Jackson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jackson thuds his right hand into Peltier's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Peltier tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.
Peltier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson misses with a straight left.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Peltier throws a wild body kick that Jackson sees coming a mile off.
Peltier bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A close second round but Donnie Jackson will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zane Peltier decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
