Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitch McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olav Erikson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonald kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sounds of Silence. Erikson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Testament - Eyes of Wrath. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Erikson takes a swing at McDonald's ribcage but misses.
Erikson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McDonald was well out of range. Poor timing from Erikson.
McDonald tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Erikson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McDonald scores with a jab. Erikson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Erikson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDonald circles away quickly and effectively.

McDonald lands a big head kick that sends Erikson tumbling to the mat! McDonald takes a step backwards and waves Erikson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Olav Erikson has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That kick from McDonald tenderised Erikson's leg. Erikson is trying to keep his angry face on.
McDonald fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Erikson.

McDonald cracks Erikson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Erikson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McDonald finish him?

McDonald connects with a solid leg kick.

Look low, kick high! McDonald uses the oldest trick in the book to send Erikson tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! McDonald is absolutely delighted - when Erikson wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

After the fight, Mitch McDonald was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
