With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santiago Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kenji.
Kenji moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kenji lands a lovely overhand right.

Kenji throws a quick inside leg kick.
Martinez takes one to the chin there.
Kenji misses with a low kick.
Donk. Kenji catches Martinez right on the button with a cross.
Kenji takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Some bone on bone action there as Martinez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Martinez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kenji is working away from the top position though.

Kenji is looking to take a break and control but Martinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Martinez is pushing Kenji's head away, looking to escape. Kenji manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kenji in particular looking to stall.

Kenji's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Martinez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kenji checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kenji lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Kenji shows good takedown defense.

Martinez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kenji lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martinez walks into a straight right hand from Kenji.
Kenji throws a series of punches but Martinez avoids them all with ease.
Kenji lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Well Kenji has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
