Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bad Moon Rising. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Robinson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Liddell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Robinson, who protects the arm well.

Liddell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robinson tries to improve position but can't.

Liddell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Robinson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Robinson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Liddell is working for a kimura but Robinson is defending it quite comfortably.
Robinson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Liddell is working away from the top position though.

Robinson manages to get to full guard.
Robinson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Robinson wants to improve his position but instead Liddell has moved into half guard.
Liddell drops an elbow to the side of Robinson's head.
Robinson tries to roll over but Liddell keeps him under control.

Liddell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Robinson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Liddell!
