The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laid shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trout sprawls well. Trout wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Laid gets slowly back to his feet.
Laid shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trout as he jumps to the side.

Trout fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Laid to the ground. Trout is now in Laid's guard.

Trout has gone for a leg lock! Laid slips out almost immediately though and dives into Trout's guard.

Laid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Trout manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Laid has Trout in his guard.

Laid looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Laid will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Laid trying to keep a closed guard but Trout is proving a slippery customer.

Trout drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laid looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laid looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laid!

Laid working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Trout really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Laid creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Laid looks up at the clock and then as Trout takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Laid smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Laid in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Trout looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Laid turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
