Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pete Drago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sukeyuki moves away.
Drago takes a swing at Sukeyuki 's ribcage but misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Drago enables Sukeyuki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Drago manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Drago wants to stand and escape but Sukeyuki is having none of it.

Sukeyuki has gone for a leg lock! Drago slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sukeyuki 's guard.

Sukeyuki is looking for a triangle here but Drago uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Drago decides to stand back up. Drago steps back and let's Sukeyuki get back to his feet.

and Sukeyuki counters with a straight right hand.

Sukeyuki dives in and scores a takedown into Drago's guard.
Sukeyuki wants to stand and escape but instead Drago has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

It looks like Matsumae Sukeyuki has been cut.

Sukeyuki throws a nice looking combination but Drago bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sukeyuki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Pete Drago will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Sukeyuki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sukeyuki reaches up to try and control the position but Drago seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Sukeyuki rolls and tries to escape and now Drago has his back!

What's going on here? Drago has decided to give up on the ground game despite having his opponent's back!

I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
