PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Meat Loaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Loaf might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to War is my destiny. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chad Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silver throws a head kick but Loaf moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Loaf enables Silver to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Loaf manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Loaf is trying to keep Silver in close.
Loaf might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Loaf wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silver has had enough of the clinch but Loaf keeps him there for the moment.

Loaf digs a right hand underneath Silver's ribcage. Silver let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Loaf breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Silver takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Loaf misses with a head kick.

Silver gets caught flat footed, as Loaf shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loaf wants to get up but he can't break Silver's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Loaf decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Silver lands a really nice looking cross but Loaf seems unphased.
Silver throws a jab when Loaf was well out of range.
Silver thows a left - swing and a miss!

Loaf tries to close the distance and clinch but Silver swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silver on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Loaf looks to throw the jab but Silver is out of range.
Loaf goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silver ducks right into an uppercut from Loaf.

Silver decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Loaf manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Meat Loaf.

and Loaf counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

It looks like Meat Loaf has been cut.
Loaf scores with a jab to the body.
Loaf keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Silver keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Loaf.
A looping hook to the body misses from Loaf. Silver does a little dance to reset his feet.

Silver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Loaf sprawls well. Loaf wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silver gets slowly back to his feet.

Loaf changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silver looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Meat Loaf overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Loaf lands with an uppercut that bounces Silver off the cage and back into range.
Loaf thows a body kick. Silver tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Loaf pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Silver has Loaf up against the cage in a clinch.
Silver tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Loaf avoids it.
Silver trying to stall but Loaf improves his position.

Loaf has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silver clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Loaf is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Silver up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Loaf punches the canvas rather than the man.
Even with his hooks in, Loaf manages to miss with strikes from the back.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Loaf, as that shot connected.
Silver avoids the body shot from Loaf.
Silver wants to clinch up but Loaf keeps it at a distance.
Loaf blocks a leg kick.

Silver throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Loaf was covering up waiting for the punch and Silver finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Loaf is on top in guard.

Loaf throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silver works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silver prevents Loaf from getting the reversal.

Silver has his opponent's back but Loaf is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Silver.
