Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conner Magavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Carter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conner Magavin!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Magavin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Magavin connects with a jab.
No luck for Magavin with that takedown attempt.
Carter tries to score with a low kick but Magavin moves his leg out of the way.
Carter throws a big shot that misses.
Carter tries for a takedown but Magavin circles away easily
and Magavin counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Carter is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Magavin as he avoids it easily.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carter creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

A head punch on the inside from Carter fails to land.
Carter is pressed up against the cage. Magavin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carter down to the mat. Carter avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Magavin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Carter just misses with a punch to the body.
Magavin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Magavin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carter looks to score with a jab to the body but Magavin is just out of range.
Ian Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Carter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Magavin dives in and grabs Carter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carter pushes down on Magavin's head and hops out.

Carter steps into range and cracks Magavin with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Magavin flops backwards and Carter dives into his guard looking to finish!


Magavin is rocked!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Magavin is still in real trouble! Can Carter finish him?

Magavin is not content to let Carter control the position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carter tries to bum rush Magavin with a series of wild strikes but Magavin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Magavin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carter.
Carter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Magavin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carter circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carter tries to work over Magavin's front leg with a kick but Magavin checks it.
Magavin misses with a double jab.
Magavin is trying desperately to land a takedown but Carter is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Magavin.

Carter swings for the body but Magavin moves out of range.
Carter looks to land a combination but Magavin avoids it well.
Carter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Magavin.

Magavin loads up on a big right hand but Carter slips the punch.
Magavin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carter.
Carter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carter motions for Magavin to come forward. Carter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Magavin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Carter regains full guard. Nicely done.
Magavin wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Carter controls Magavin momentarily but Magavin frees himself.
Magavin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter wants to sweep but no luck.
Carter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Magavin's guard.
Magavin wants to stand but Carter is controlling the position.
Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Magavin is retaining full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter trying to control but Magavin is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Magavin's head.
Carter wants to pass the guard but Magavin is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Magavin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carter manages to avoid it.
Magavin shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Magavin moves away.

Magavin looks to land a combination but Carter avoids it well.

Carter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Magavin is looking for a sweep. Carter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Carter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carter throws a strike but Magavin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Magavin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ian Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Magavin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Magavin is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carter has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Magavin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Carter has tightened it up now! Magavin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
