Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Barcinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatton is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ready for war. David Hatton has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ralph Barcinas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barcinas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hatton fails to land with a series of punches.
Hatton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barcinas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice body kick there by Hatton.
Hatton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barcinas swivels and escapes.
Hatton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Barcinas gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Barcinas is trying to get an arm triangle but Hatton is defending well.

Barcinas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Barcinas is breathing heavily.

Barcinas swings around for an armbar but Hatton sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Barcinas's guard.
Hatton looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatton wants to control from the top but Barcinas keeps moving.
Hatton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hatton tries to free his leg and advance position but Barcinas is retaining full guard.
Hatton trying to control the position from guard on top but Barcinas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barcinas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barcinas tries to get out of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Hatton was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Hatton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barcinas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hatton controls the pace.
Hatton postures up in Barcinas's guard and throws a big left but Barcinas blocks it.
Hatton trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barcinas's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hatton. Barcinas does a little dance to reset his feet.
David Hatton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barcinas gets caught flat footed, as Hatton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hatton controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hatton trying to control but Barcinas is working from the bottom.

David Hatton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hatton.
Hatton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barcinas keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barcinas regains half guard, as Hatton was trying to land strikes.
Hatton is stalling here. Barcinas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hatton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Barcinas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barcinas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hatton has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Hatton dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Barcinas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hatton was well out of range. Poor timing from Barcinas.

Barcinas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Barcinas is looking for a kimura here.
Hatton is looking for a sweep. Barcinas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hatton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Barcinas seems to be working for a kimura but Hatton defends the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hatton makes his way to full guard, as Barcinas worked for a kimura.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatton thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hatton has control of Barcinas's left arm, preventing Barcinas from doing any damage.
Hatton wants to sweep but no luck.
Hatton trying to keep a closed guard but Barcinas is proving a slippery customer.

Barcinas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Barcinas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hatton dives on top into guard.
Hatton wants to control from the top but Barcinas keeps moving.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hatton has eaten all the pies!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. David Hatton wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hatton turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Barcinas moves into range and clinches up with Hatton.
Barcinas's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Hatton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
David Hatton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hatton shoots in looking for a takedown but Barcinas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hatton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Barcinas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hatton sprawls well initially but Barcinas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hatton is holding on to half guard well.

Barcinas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hatton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barcinas.
Hatton is trying to maintain the position but Barcinas is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Barcinas is looking for a kimura but Hatton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Barcinas to get the leverage.
Hatton is trying to stand back up but Barcinas is controlling him
Hatton moves into full guard.
Barcinas stops Hatton from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barcinas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barcinas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hatton looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Barcinas is defending well. Hatton quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Barcinas has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hatton celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Hatton!
