PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrel Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett has chosen Highway to Hell as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrel Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett stalks Lee and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lee's face. Lee staggers backwards, shaken.
Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Lee moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Sackett moves out of range easily.
Sackett looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lee misses with a wild body shot.
Sackett throws a hook but Lee avoids it easily.
Sackett misses with a low kick.
Lee lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sackett sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lee misses with a hook. Sackett ducked under it nicely.
Sackett throws a jab when Lee was well out of range.
Sackett pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sackett throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sackett.

Lee takes a shot to the head.

Lee wants the takedown. Sackett is fighting it off but Lee persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sackett's guard against the cage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Lee is pushing down on Sackett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sackett is fighting to maintain full guard but Lee has managed to sneak the leg through.

Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Sackett is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sackett tries to roll over but Lee keeps him under control.
Lee is just content to waste time from the top position. Sackett takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lee pushes down on Sackett's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lee is taking a breather. Sackett says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Lee dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lee scores with a kick to the body.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sackett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sackett misses with an uppercut. Lee saw that one coming.
Lee checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Cody Lee is winning the standup battle so far.
Sackett pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Oooooh!!! Lee has knocked Sackett down with a huge combo! Lee steps away and waves a wobbly Sackett back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee throws a good cross that connects.

Sackett is rocked!
Lee staying out of range there.
Sackett is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Sackett throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lee on the side of the head.
Sackett seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters circling - Lee throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sackett. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.

Lee pushes Sackett up against the cage in a clinch.
Sackett lands a hook that snaps the head of Lee backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lee.
Lee tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sackett's elbow.
Sackett can't find room to land a body shot as Lee controls the action.
Lee lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Sackett or not.
Sackett gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lee.
Sackett misses with some punches.
Sackett misses with a hook from the clinch.
Lee lands an uppercut.
Lee blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Sackett pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sackett throws a hook to the side of Lee's head but Lee sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lee lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sackett has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sackett and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Lee moves away from the strike by Sackett.
Lee throws a low kick but Sackett moves out of range easily.
Sackett throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sackett.
Lee fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sackett looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sackett throws a front kick that sends Lee stumbling back into the cage.
Lee scores with a leg kick.
Tyrel Sackett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sackett moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A head kick misses from Sackett.

Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sackett swivels and escapes.
Nice sprawl there from Sackett as Lee shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sackett throws the kick towards the body but Lee avoids it.

Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sackett dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lee. That did some damage!

Sackett takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Nice uppercut lands for Lee. That snapped Sackett's head back.
Lee feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sackett's calf.

Sackett takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
That kick from Lee tenderised Sackett's leg. Sackett is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lee has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Lee dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lee works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Lee drops Sackett with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sackett looks back up at him and smiles so Lee waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sackett has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lee.
Sackett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sackett takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sackett's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Lee buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

BOOM! Lee lands a beautiful left hook that drops Sackett. Sackett tries to recover but Lee is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Sackett lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

During a confident post fight interview, Cody Lee thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
