The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messi scores with a one two! Goots had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Shoots Goots has been cut.
Goots moves away from the strike by Messi.
Goots scores with a hook.
Goots misses with an uppercut. Messi saw that one coming.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Messi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Goots fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Goots bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Goots goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Messi looks to land a combination but Goots avoids it well.

Goots fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Messi is out of range.
Messi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goots.
Goots listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Messi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Goots - the referee stops the clock and Messi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Goots. Messi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Goots.

Goots dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Messi. That did some damage!

Goots just misses with a punch to the body.
Goots takes a swing at Messi's ribcage but misses.
Goots moves into range and connects with a jab.
Goots swings for the body but Messi moves out of range.
Goots throws a solid leg kick but Messi takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Goots.
Goots throws a head kick but Messi moves out of range.
Messi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A bone on bone clash there as Messi blocks the leg kick.
Goots bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Goots drops Messi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Messi looks back up at him and smiles so Goots waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Messi is rocked!
Goots is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Messi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Goots tries to bum rush Messi with a series of wild strikes but Messi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Messi misses with a hook. Goots ducked under it nicely.
Goots is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Goots shuts the power down on Messi. Lights out, game over! Goots is your winner.
