Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Happy Foot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Bayard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christian Bayard!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foot closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bayard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Foot's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bayard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Foot tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Foot trying to keep a closed guard but Bayard is proving a slippery customer.
Bayard is pushing down on Foot's leg trying to pass to half guard. Foot is fighting to maintain full guard but Bayard has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bayard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Foot feints a jab promting Bayard to slip. Foot then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bayard slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Bayard counters with a single leg into guard. Foot didn't expect that.

Foot is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bayard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Foot is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bayard scores with a couple of nice shots.
Bayard is taking a breather. Foot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Foot fails to land with a series of punches.
Foot tries to land a front kick but Bayard steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Bayard is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Foot's half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Christian Bayard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bayard remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
