Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Guevara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Apaga mas não bate. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maier shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guevara's guard.
Maier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Guevara is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maier, into his guard.
Maier is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Guevara defends well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maier is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Guevara is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Guevara has escaped and now he's on top!

Maier is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Maier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Maier is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guevara is just riding it out for now. Maier eventually gives up the hold.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Maier moves in looking to clinch but Guevara pushes him off.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maier.
Sepp Maier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maier shoots in looking for a takedown. Guevara tries to sprawl out of it but Maier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Guevara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guevara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Guevara and the ref steps in to end the fight! Guevara can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
