PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Blachovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymondo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blachovich's entrance music is Metallica - Enter Sandman. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from Blachovich finds it's target.

Blachovich keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Blachovich throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie lands a nice shot that snaps Blachovich's head back.
Blachovich looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range.

and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Gracie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A slapping body kick lands there for Blachovich.
Blachovich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Blachovich lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie throws a hook but Blachovich blocks it.
Blachovich lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Gracie misses with a leg kick
letting Blachovich counter with a right hand.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blachovich circles away.
Blachovich lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Blachovich lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Blachovich fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Blachovich displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blachovich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
No joy there for Blachovich, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gracie looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Blachovich stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gracie gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gracie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Blachovich. Blachovich circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Blachovich connects with a body shot that sends Gracie's belly button to the back.
Blachovich throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Blachovich just misses with a punch to the body.

Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Blachovich on his heels. He'll look to pass Blachovich's guard now, I'm sure.
Gracie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blachovich's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie wants to pass the guard but Blachovich is keeping the position.

Gracie stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Blachovich has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gracie manages to get his head free but now Blachovich has transitioned to an armbar! Gracie grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Blachovich! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

A very excited looking John Blachovich rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
