Boans comes to the cage accompanied by Round and Round by Ratt. Jon Boans is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boans tries for a takedown but The Ghost Of Sparta sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Boans clinches up against the cage.

Boans pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The Ghost Of Sparta trying to control the position from guard on top but Boans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boans kicks The Ghost Of Sparta off and gets to his feet.
Boans shoots in looking for a takedown but The Ghost Of Sparta manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boans's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Boans closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Boans decides to stand back up. Boans steps back and let's The Ghost Of Sparta get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boans drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boans jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Boans pushes down on The Ghost Of Sparta's leg and manages to get into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Ghost Of Sparta can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boans seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Ghost Of Sparta does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The Ghost Of Sparta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jon Boans spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
