Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brock Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Mullberry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mullberry has chosen Top Gun Anthem as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Cruz misses the target.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Mullberry shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cruz shoots in but no luck this time.
Cruz misses with a series of wild punches.

Cruz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mullberry did well to prevent Cruz getting side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cruz is looking to take a break and control but Mullberry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruz throws a strike but Mullberry avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brock Cruz.
Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mullberry circles away.

Mullberry swings for the body but Cruz moves out of range.
Cruz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mullberry swivels and escapes.

Nice uppercut lands for Mullberry. That snapped Cruz's head back.

Cruz tries to close the distance and clinch but Mullberry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mullberry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cruz manages to avoid it.
Mullberry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No joy there for Cruz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mullberry throws a shot to the body.

Cruz is breathing heavily.
Mullberry throws an overhand right that drops Cruz like a sack of potatoes! Mullberry dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

A relieved looking James Mullberry thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
