PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Vasara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Wu Tang - Triumph. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rashad Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sami Vasara!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasara misses with a double jab.
Jackson takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Vasara tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vasara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vasara's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jackson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vasara - the referee stops the clock and Jackson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vasara. Jackson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Vasara comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Vasara sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vasara lands a nice shot to the body.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Vasara, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Vasara against the cage but Vasara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rashad Jackson will probably get the nod.
