Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samson David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jr StClair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samson David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jr StClair!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
StClair throws a quick head kick that skims the top of David's head.


It looks like Samson David has been cut.
David is looking to clinch.
StClair throws a head kick but David moves out of range.
StClair fails with a takedown attempt.
StClair scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

StClair drives through and clinches with David against the cage.
StClair tries to circle away but David has him pinned against the cage.
StClair is trying to break free.
StClair wants to break the clinch but can't.
David has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

StClair breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
David is looking to clinch but StClair is avoiding it.
David misses with an attempted mid kick.

StClair gets a double leg takedown into David's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

StClair decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

David gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Samson David is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
David takes a body punch but keeps moving.
StClair lands with a nice combination. David backs away looking to recover.
David throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

StClair is trying hard to land a takedown here. David sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and David counters with a head kick. That will keep StClair thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
StClair throws a left and a right that both miss
letting David counter with a right hand.
Jr StClair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

StClair circles away from the clinch attempt.

StClair fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. David sprawls well initially but StClair persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

StClair is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and David defends it well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Jr StClair seems to be getting the better of the standup.
David throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Jr StClair has been cut.

StClair drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

StClair drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and StClair jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

StClair keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of David's head.
StClair is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

StClair stands and steps away. David gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

StClair is trying to get an arm triangle but David is defending well.

StClair decides to stand back up.
David avoids a punch combination nicely.
StClair looks to land a combination. David sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

StClair rushes David and presses him up against the cage.

StClair wants to get back to striking at distance but David won't allow it.
StClair looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
StClair wants to break the clinch but can't.
StClair is trying to push David away but David has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
StClair has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
David misses with a hook to the ribs.

StClair will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jr StClair showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


David tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. StClair manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

StClair shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

He's trying desperately to grab hold of StClair around the waist but StClair pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! StClair is the winner by TKO! StClair jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
