The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simler leaves Duke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Simler keeps the fight on the outside.

Duke clinches with his opponent.

Simler breaks from the clinch.
Duke uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Simler.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Duke.

Simler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Simler slows down the pace here.

Duke has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Simler uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Duke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Simler defends it easily.

Duke trying to keep a closed guard but Simler is proving a slippery customer.
Duke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Simler is one step ahead there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duke is on top in guard.
Duke would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Simler tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sami Duke.
A jab from Simler misses.
Simler misses with a double jab.
Horrible takedown by Duke or perhaps it was just good defense by Simler which made him look bad.

Duke tries to clinch up but Simler circles away and keeps his distance.
Simler punishes Duke's body with a nice straight punch.
A big right from Simler misses.
Duke takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Duke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Simler throws out the jab.

Simler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Duke, pushing him back against the cage.
Duke is trying to pull guard but Simler turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Simler pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Simler swings widly with a right hand

and Duke moves into the clinch.
Duke tries to pull guard but Simler forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duke is looking to control Simler's arms but Simler gets an underhook and turns him. Now Duke has his back to the cage.
Simler cracks Duke with a nice body shot.
Duke is breathing heavily.
Simler lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Simler just leaning against Duke, taking a breather.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Simler dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Simler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sami Duke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Simler! Duke is backing up but he can't get away as Simler lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Duke and ends the fight. Great knockout.
