Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Herzog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin has chosen Stone Cold Entrance as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin misses with a wild combination.
Austin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Austin throws a right and a left that Herzog avoids nicely.

Herzog gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Austin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Herzog wants to sweep here but Austin controlling him for the moment.
Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Herzog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Austin connects with a couple of short punches.
Austin passes Herzog's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Herzog is staying active underneath Austin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Austin drops an elbow to the side of Herzog's head.
Herzog is trying to control but Austin manages to pass to mount!
Herzog is working to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee warns Herzog that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Austin wants to stand up but Herzog has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Herzog wants to control but Austin is keeping busy.

Herzog is looking for a triangle but Austin pushes his legs off easily.
Austin works over Herzog with some ground and pound from guard.

Herzog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Austin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Austin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Herzog is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Austin postures up in Herzog's guard and throws a big left but Herzog blocks it.

Herzog escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Austin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Austin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Austin throws a strike but Herzog rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Herzog postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herzog connects with a couple of short punches.
Austin pulls Herzog in close to prevent any damage.
Austin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Herzog trying to control the position from guard on top but Austin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Herzog preventing the sweep.
Herzog working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Herzog postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Herzog is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Herzog pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Austin is keeping the position for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Herzog accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Austin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Herzog is controlling him.
Austin controls Herzog momentarily but Herzog frees himself.
Herzog won't allow Austin to sweep him here.
Herzog tries to free his leg and advance position but Austin is retaining full guard.
Austin keeping moving, preventing Herzog from controlling successfully.
Austin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Herzog is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Austin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Herzog takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Herzog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Austin pinned against the cage. Austin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Austin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Herzog!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Austin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Austin lands a big shot there that rocks Herzog but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Herzog wants to control but Austin is having none of it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Austin is landing with some decent strikes but Herzog is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Herzog is working to get back to half guard.
Herzog tries to hold on but Austin postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Austin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Austin lands a nice short elbow.

Austin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Austin is looking for a kimura here.
Austin is looking to advance position but Herzog won't allow it.
Austin is keen to just control but Herzog is a slippery customer.

Herzog looking for submissions off his back.
Austin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Herzog's head.

Herzog is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Austin pulls his head out easily.
Austin wants to take a breather but Herzog is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Herzog kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Herzog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Herzog manages to get to full guard.

Austin wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Herzog's closed guard. He's half up but Herzog has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Herzog pivots and extends the arm, Austin falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Herzog! Well done that man!
