And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarzan lands with a nice body kick.
Fabbri doesn't manage to clinch there - Tarzan circles away.
Tarzan misses with a double jab.
Tarzan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tarzan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Fabbri. Fabbri obviously looking to wear him down.
Tarzan throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Fabbri connects with a body shot that sends Tarzan's belly button to the back.
Fabbri is looking to clinch.

Fabbri closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fabbri lands in his opponent's guard.

Fabbri has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fabbri works over Tarzan with some ground and pound from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fabbri accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tarzan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tarzan wants to stand up but Fabbri is controlling him.
Fabbri throws a strike but Tarzan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Fabbri is controlling Tarzan's posture.
Fabbri has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tarzan won't allow Fabbri to get back to his feet.
Tarzan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tarzan wanted to stand there but Fabbri had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Massimo Fabbri.

Tarzan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fabbri to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fabbri is in close to Tarzan's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tarzan controls Fabbri momentarily but Fabbri frees himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tarzan is looking to stand up but Fabbri isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fabbri postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Tarzan in real trouble here! The ref calls for Tarzan to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
