PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Jaffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Wispe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaffer comes to the cage accompanied by DubRaider- Starry Eyes. The crowd seem to be enjoying Wispe's choice of entrance music: Me Against The World. Matthew Wispe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jaffer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Wispe!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Wispe lands.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wispe fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jaffer is out of range.
Wispe throws a head kick but Jaffer moves out of range.
Wispe takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Jaffer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Wispe throws a head kick that misses.
Jaffer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wispe tries to avoid it but Jaffer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wispe to the ground. Wispe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wispe throws a hook to the side of Jaffer's head but Jaffer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Wispe slips a straight right by Jaffer.
Jaffer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wispe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jaffer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jaffer throws a leg kick which misses Wispe's front leg but catches the back leg as Wispe tries to avoid it.
Jaffer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Jaffer shoots in for a takedown but Wispe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wispe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jaffer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
