Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gomi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gomi is trying to get an arm triangle but Jackson is defending well.

Gomi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jackson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gomi's guard! Nice work there by Jackson!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gomi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gomi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gomi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jackson tries to score with some ground and pound. Gomi controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gomi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.

Gomi has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Shawn Jackson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Gomi shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.

Shawn Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gomi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gomi gets slowly back to his feet.

Jackson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Tsatsu Gomi has been cut.
Jackson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Jackson misses with the head strike.
Jackson tries to throw a body punch but Gomi avoids it by throwing Jackson back against the cage.
Gomi is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jackson to keep the fight standing.
Jackson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gomi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Gomi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jackson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Jackson moves into the clinch successfully.
A nice left hand lands by Jackson.
Gomi tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Gomi drops back down to his feet.

Gomi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jackson has closed the distance and engaged Gomi in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shawn Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gomi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Gomi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
