Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Koekemoer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Morikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Morikawa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vernon Koekemoer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo Morikawa! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koekemoer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Well, if Koekemoer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Morikawa tries to get to full guard but Koekemoer has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morikawa tries to kick Koekemoer off but Koekemoer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Koekemoer controlling the action here.
Koekemoer decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Morikawa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Morikawa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Koekemoer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Koekemoer throws a sloppy head kick and Morikawa moves out of range easily. Morikawa scores with a jab to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koekemoer swats away the attempt to clinch by Morikawa. Morikawa looks gassed!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Morikawa shoots in for a double leg but Koekemoer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Koekemoer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Morikawa's guard.
Koekemoer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Koekemoer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morikawa, up you get!
Koekemoer moves into range and clinches up with Morikawa.
Koekemoer jumps guard.
Morikawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Koekemoer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Koekemoer is looking for a triangle but Morikawa pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Koekemoer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Koekemoer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morikawa's guard.
Koekemoer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morikawa, up you get!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Morikawa enables Koekemoer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morikawa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Koekemoer works over Morikawa with some ground and pound from guard. Koekemoer passes into half guard. Nice strikes from Koekemoer there. Koekemoer stalling. Morikawa tries to kick Koekemoer off but Koekemoer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Koekemoer stands up out of the half guard.

Koekemoer moves into the clinch.
Koekemoer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Koekemoer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Morikawa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Koekemoer seems keen to control Morikawa's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
 Vernon Koekemoer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Koekemoer defending well as Morikawa loads up on a big left hand.
Koekemoer gets a double leg takedown into Morikawa's guard. Koekemoer passes easily into side control. Nice work. Morikawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Koekemoer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Koekemoer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Koekemoer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morikawa is looking to get back to his feet here but Koekemoer is keeping cool and he's managed to take Morikawa's back. Koekemoer has the hooks in. Morikawa is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Koekemoer is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Morikawa covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Morikawa holding both Koekemoer 's hands and preventing any damage.
Morikawa is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Vernon Koekemoer dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Morikawa gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Koekemoer advances position into side control! Koekemoer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Koekemoer decides to stand back up. Koekemoer steps back and let's Morikawa get back to his feet. Koekemoer moves away from the strike by Morikawa. Morikawa is breathing heavily. Morikawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Koekemoer tries to sprawl out of it but Morikawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Koekemoer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Koekemoer misses with a low kick.
Morikawa gets caught napping as Koekemoer dives in and scores a takedown. Morikawa manages to retain guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Koekemoer working some strikes from top position. Koekemoer slips nicely into half guard. Morikawa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Koekemoer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Koekemoer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Koekemoer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Morikawa tries to get to full guard but Koekemoer has control of the leg. Koekemoer lands strikes from half guard. Koekemoer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Koekemoer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Koekemoer is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Morikawa!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Koekemoer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Koekemoer lands with some strikes. Koekemoer looking to control and managing it successfully. Morikawa is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Koekemoer has taken his back! Koekemoer really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Morikawa. Koekemoer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Koekemoer is punishing Morikawa with strikes - can he finish him?!
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Koekemoer controls the action. Can Morikawa hold on?! Koekemoer is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
I really don't envy Morikawa right now.
Koekemoer has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Morikawa. Koekemoer biding his time, looking for the opening.
Koekemoer scores with punches to the body. Koekemoer lands punches and elbows. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Koekemoer lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Morikawa.
Koekemoer has managed to slip his arm under Morikawa's chin. This could be all over... yep, Morikawa is tapping out! Submission win for Koekemoer.
