Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rickcelly Edward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiwi Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Edward.
Edward lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Edward.
Edward throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Edward has Bird up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Edward pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Edward closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bird to the mat! Bird manages to get full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Edward stands and steps away. Bird gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Edward closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Bird is rocked!

Edward dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Bird has had enough and taps out.
