The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kempell has Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Kempell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Johnson breaks the clinch.

Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Kempell has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kempell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kempell's efforts to push away.
Kempell tries to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling the position.
Kempell lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Johnson backwards.
Kempell blocks the elbow strike.
Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Kempell has him pressed against the cage.
Johnson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kempell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kempell fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kempell's waist but Kempell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Kempell lands an overhand right.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kempell closes the distance and clinches.
Kempell is trying to push Johnson away but Johnson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kempell fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Kempell. Kempell maintains the clinch.
Kempell lands with a left to the head.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kempell takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kempell is trying to force a seperation but Johnson has the dominant position.
Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kempell.

Johnson is rocked!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kempell.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Kempell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kempell clinches with his opponent.

Kempell breaks from the clinch.
Johnson is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Kempell just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Johnson has gone limp and this one is over!
