Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kari Taalasmaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soljah Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soljah Hart will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Soljah Hart!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taalasmaa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hart napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Taalasmaa controls the position.
Taalasmaa has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Taalasmaa controlling the position easily from mount.

Taalasmaa is landing with some decent strikes but Hart is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Taalasmaa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hart was well out of range. Poor timing from Taalasmaa.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kari Taalasmaa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Kari Taalasmaa wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sloppy strikes from Hart. Those never looked like landing.
Hart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Taalasmaa takes a swing at Hart's ribcage but misses.
Hart keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Taalasmaa misses with a lunging right hand
and Hart counters with a series of strikes. Taalasmaa will be more careful next time no doubt.

Taalasmaa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hart manages to avoid it.

Taalasmaa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Taalasmaa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hart counters with a three punch combo that has Taalasmaa backing up. Taalasmaa nods at Hart to acknowledge the strikes.
Hart moves out of range of the strikes.

Taalasmaa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hart takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Taalasmaa tries to score with some ground and pound. Hart controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Taalasmaa slows the pace down.
Hart is breathing heavily.

Taalasmaa is chipping away with strikes.
Taalasmaa in side control, throwing shots but Hart defends.
Taalasmaa is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Taalasmaa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Taalasmaa works to advance to full mount. Hart defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hart wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Taalasmaa.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kari Taalasmaa dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


No joy there for Hart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Taalasmaa throws a looping overhand right but Hart ducks down to avoid it.
Taalasmaa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hart can do to turn this around?
Taalasmaa missing with a left hand there. Hart was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Taalasmaa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Taalasmaa stays in close to Hart's body and controls the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Kari Taalasmaa wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hart misses with a wild combination.
Soljah Hart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Taalasmaa scores a takedown into full mount!
Taalasmaa content just to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kari Taalasmaa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Taalasmaa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hart.
Kari Taalasmaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Taalasmaa dives in and scores a takedown into Hart's guard.
Taalasmaa controlling from the top position.
Hart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Taalasmaa landing with the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kari Taalasmaa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Taalasmaa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
