Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Basileo Gallegos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Humberto Montes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montes tries to clinch up but Gallegos circles away and keeps his distance.
Montes throws a right hand that Gallegos ducks under and follows up with a left that Gallegos also avoids with ease.
Gallegos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Montes as he avoids it easily.

Montes pushes Gallegos up against the cage in a clinch.

Montes jumps guard and drags Gallegos to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Gallegos forces his way into half guard.

Gallegos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Montes has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gallegos has hold of Montes's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Montes manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Montes is trying desperately to improve position.

Gallegos wants to finish this one by submission but Montes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gallegos.

Gallegos goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Montes turns into him and now he's in Gallegos's guard.

Gallegos is looking for a triangle but Montes pushes his legs off easily.
Montes wants to stand but Gallegos has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Montes is pushing down on Gallegos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gallegos is fighting to maintain full guard but Montes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Montes tries to clinch but Gallegos moves away

Gallegos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Montes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gallegos is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Montes to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Montes has closed the distance and engaged Gallegos in a clinch.
Gallegos goes for a takedown attempt but Montes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Basileo Gallegos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gallegos is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Montes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gallegos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Montes is in Gallegos's guard.
Montes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Montes would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Montes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Basileo Gallegos decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
