Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ville Apila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chelios comes to the cage accompanied by In Waves. Apila has chosen Distance ( OF OUR SKILLS) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apila takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Apila uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Chelios.
Apila shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chelios pinned against the cage. Chelios gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Apila wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chelios, who protects the arm well.

Apila creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Chelios sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Apila is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chelios knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Chelios misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ville Apila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chelios takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Chelios throws a sloppy head kick and Apila moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters circle momentarily. Chelios darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Apila shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chelios's guard.

Apila wants to control from the top but Chelios keeps moving.
Chelios looking to hit a scissor sweep but Apila is one step ahead there.

Apila postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chelios is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Apila, into his guard.

Chelios wants to control from the top but Apila keeps moving.
Apila avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Apila has his feet on Chelios's thighs here. He's pushed Chelios off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Chelios screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
