The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berto Jr thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Steele if he has to take too many more of those.
Steele fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Berto Jr closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Steele stalling in the clinch but Berto Jr improves position.

Berto Jr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Steele drops down looking for an ankle pick but Berto Jr pulls his leg out and moves away.

Steele goes for a takedown attempt but Berto Jr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Berto Jr gets caught napping as Steele dives in and scores a takedown. Berto Jr manages to retain guard.

Berto Jr has control of Steele's left arm, preventing Steele from doing any damage.
Berto Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steele tries to get to full guard but Berto Jr has control of the leg.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We're going to have a standup here because Devon Berto Jr wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Steele shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Steele.
Berto Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Steele takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Berto Jr clinches up with Steele and pushes him back against the cage.

Steele shoots in looking for a takedown. Berto Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Steele keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Berto Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Berto Jr drops Steele with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Steele looks back up at him and smiles so Berto Jr waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Steele is still on wobbly legs! Can Berto Jr finish him?
Berto Jr lands with a right and another and another! Steele is in big trouble! Berto Jr lands again and this time it's lights out for Steele! A quality knockout there for Berto Jr.
