Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Hollyfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley has chosen The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Evander Hollyfield has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Evander Hollyfield seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hollyfield scores with a one two! Ripley had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Ripley shoots in and drives through. Hollyfield sprawls well.
Ripley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hollyfield moves away.
Ripley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hollyfield counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ripley has his foot on Hollyfield's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hollyfield works his way back into a safe position though.

A right-left combo lands from Hollyfield.
Ripley closes the distance and clinches up with Hollyfield, looking for a takedown. Ripley pushes Hollyfield against the cage but Hollyfield circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Evander Hollyfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Ripley.
Ripley throws a right and a left that both miss.

Ripley throws a series of punches but Hollyfield moves out of range.
Ripley takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hollyfield throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hollyfield throws a sloppy head kick and Ripley moves out of range easily.
Mr Ripley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hollyfield jabs Ripley right on the nose. Ripley blinks but takes it well.
Hollyfield scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ripley doesn't seem bothered though.
Ripley fails to land with a series of punches.
Ripley scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Hollyfield lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hollyfield lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ripley walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hollyfield.
Hollyfield feints a jab promting Ripley to slip. Hollyfield then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ripley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ripley is rocked!
Hollyfield throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ripley tries to clinch there but Hollyfield circles away.
A head kick from Hollyfield lands but Ripley takes it in his stride.
Ripley is still on wobbly legs! Can Hollyfield finish him?
Ripley takes a jab right on the kisser.
Ripley sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hollyfield - that will leave a mark!
Ripley seems to have recovered his senses.
Ripley takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Hollyfield keeps Ripley at a distance using the push kick.
Ripley is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hollyfield is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ripley.
Ripley misses with a kick to the body
and Hollyfield counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ripley blocks an elbow strike.
Hollyfield crunches a lovely knee into Ripley's ribcage.

Ripley tries to pull guard but Hollyfield holds him up against the cage and eventually Ripley drops back down to his feet.

Hollyfield has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ripley is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ripley is squirming around, avoiding Hollyfield's attempts to control the action.

Hollyfield has control of Ripley's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ripley regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hollyfield can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ripley is looking to escape.

Hollyfield pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Ripley takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Hollyfield's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
