PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nefertum Imhotep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Sorrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sorrow comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Survivor - Burning Heart kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Imhotep is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Imhotep drives through and clinches with Sorrow against the cage.
Imhotep content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Imhotep prevents the takedown attempt.

Imhotep decides to pull guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sorrow trying to control but Imhotep is working from the bottom.
Imhotep wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sorrow wants to pass the guard but Imhotep is keeping the position.
Sorrow working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Imhotep's head.
Imhotep wants to sweep but no luck.
Sorrow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Imhotep swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Imhotep bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sorrow's guard.
Imhotep with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sorrow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Imhotep. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Imhotep gets to his feet. Sorrow looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Imhotep has closed the distance and engaged Sorrow in a clinch.
Imhotep is pushing Sorrow up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Imhotep pulls guard successfully.
Imhotep manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sorrow manages to get himself to full guard.

Imhotep stands and steps away. Sorrow gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Sorrow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Imhotep is fending him off so far but Sorrow persists. Nope, Imhotep circles away and we're back to standing.

Imhotep gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sorrow is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Imhotep to keep the fight standing.
Nefertum Imhotep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitch Sorrow.
Sorrow tries to break the clinch but Imhotep is controlling the position.
Imhotep is looking for a takedown.
Imhotep misses with a knee to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Imhotep lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Mitch Sorrow has been cut.
Sorrow looks gassed!

Imhotep scores with a knee to the head.

Imhotep pulls Sorrow into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Imhotep bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sorrow's guard.
Imhotep lands a couple of digs.

Sorrow is rocked!
Imhotep stands and throws Sorrow's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sorrow is still in real trouble! Can Imhotep finish him?
Imhotep cracks Sorrow with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Imhotep immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Sorrow is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Imhotep!
