The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs ducks right into an uppercut from Daniel.
Daniel throws a nice looking combination but Jacobs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jacobs thuds his shin into the meat of Daniel's side.
Daniel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jamie Daniel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Daniel misses with a double jab
and Jacobs counters with a three punch combo that has Daniel backing up. Daniel nods at Jacobs to acknowledge the strikes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daniel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Daniel throws a jab but it's blocked by Jacobs.

Jacobs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Daniel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Jacobs counters with a nice uppercut.

Daniel throws out a loose jab but Jacobs uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jacobs takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sloppy strikes from Daniel. Those never looked like landing.
Daniel throws a series of punches but Jacobs moves out of range.
Jacobs throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Jacobs moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
A slapping body kick lands there for Jacobs.
Daniel is breathing heavily.

and Jacobs counters with a thumping low kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Daniel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Daniel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jacobs counters with a right hand to the body.

Daniel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jacobs to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jacobs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Daniel is keeping the position.
Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Daniel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground.
Jacobs postures up in Daniel's guard and throws a big left but Daniel blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacobs wants to control from the top but Daniel keeps moving.

Christian Jacobs has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Daniel on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jacobs. Jacobs obviously looking to wear him down.
Daniel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A big left from Daniel misses.
Jacobs is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jacobs lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Daniel connects with a right hand. Jacobs shakes it off.

Jacobs is rocked!
Daniel lands a big right hook! Jacobs looks hurt but is still standing! Daniel lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Jacobs falls down and Daniel dives in with a huge hammer fist! Jacobs's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Daniel runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
