Elkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Care Bear Countdown kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dwight Elkins acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins shoots in and drives through. Benoit sprawls well.
A nice leg kick lands there from Elkins.
Benoit fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Benoit scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

It looks like Dwight Elkins has been cut.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Elkins.
Elkins misses with a straight right.
Benoit dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Elkins slips a straight right by Benoit.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Elkins motions for Benoit to come forward. Elkins throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Elkins swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benoit keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Elkins.
Elkins doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Benoit counters with a nice uppercut.
Matthieu Benoit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwight Elkins.
Elkins looks gassed!
Benoit blocks the body kick.
Benoit moves away from the strike by Elkins.
Benoit blocks a head kick by Elkins.
Benoit cracks Elkins with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Elkins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Benoit steps into range and cracks Elkins with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Elkins flops backwards and Benoit dives into his guard looking to finish!

Elkins is rocked!

Benoit postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Elkins covers up, he's hurt! Benoit keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Benoit and the ref steps in to end the fight! Benoit can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

After the fight, Matthieu Benoit was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
