The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michihiro misses with a body kick.
Cruz swings for the body but Michihiro moves out of range.
Cruz lands a jab to the nose.
Michihiro drops his hands momentarily and Cruz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Michihiro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cruz.

Michihiro shoots in for a takedown but Cruz shows good takedown defense.
Cruz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Michihiro on the side of the head.

Cruz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Michihiro looks gassed!
Michihiro looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Cruz moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Michihiro goes down! Can Cruz finish him!?

Michihiro seems to have recovered his senses.

Cruz throws a strike but Michihiro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Cruz uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Cruz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Michihiro moves away.
Cruz cracks Michihiro with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Cruz's corner calls for a 1-2. Cruz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Michihiro leaves his chin hanging out and Cruz seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Michihiro crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
