Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Cabrillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Cabrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leroy Mason!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cabrillo scores with a jab to the head.

Cabrillo drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cabrillo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mason is keeping the position for now.
Mason keeping moving, preventing Cabrillo from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mason working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cabrillo.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cabrillo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cabrillo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cabrillo throws a big right hand that misses.
Mason avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cabrillo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cabrillo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cabrillo landing with the ground and pound.
Cabrillo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cabrillo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cabrillo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cabrillo wants to control from the top but Mason keeps moving.
Cabrillo wants to pass the guard but Mason is keeping the position.
Cabrillo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mason is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cabrillo is working Mason over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Cabrillo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cabrillo throws a big elbow that misses.
Cabrillo passes into half guard.
Cabrillo throwing shots but Mason is blocking nicely.
Cabrillo is trying to control. Mason wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cabrillo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mason's head.
Cabrillo wants to pass to mount but Mason is defending the position.

Cabrillo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mason defends it well.
Mason keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Cabrillo working over Mason with some ground and pound. Mason looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Cabrillo works his foot free and advances to mount.
Cabrillo is landing with some decent strikes but Mason is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


It looks like Leroy Mason has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cabrillo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mason turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cabrillo off and cradles Mason's limp body as Cabrillo celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Juan Cabrillo!
An out of breath and clearly excited Juan Cabrillo thanked Hell's Kitchen Lab Corp (95% quick laundry) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
