Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Markus Mac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilya Porunov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mac throws a right and a left that both miss.

Mac moves into the clinch successfully.

Mac breaks the clinch.
Porunov slips a jab and a cross from Mac.
Mac throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Porunov.
Mac tries a head kick but it misses.
Mac feints a jab promting Porunov to slip. Mac then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Porunov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Mac misses with a series of wild punches.

Mac fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Porunov sprawls well initially but Mac persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Porunov is looking for a sweep. Mac is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mac wants to get back to his feet.
Mac trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Porunov tries to roll over but Mac keeps him under control.
Mac is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Porunov manages to get to full guard.
Porunov is trying to keep Mac in close.
Porunov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mac!

Mac squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Porunov wants to control the pace but Mac is squirming around nicely.
Porunov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Porunov avoids the attempt from Mac to control.

Mac is controlling an arm, preventing Porunov from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Porunov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mac has worked his arm free - good work by Mac!

Mac fails to land with a series of punches.
Mac looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Mac. Those never looked like landing.

Porunov shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Porunov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mac doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Porunov.

enabling Mac to counter with a crisp jab.
No joy there for Mac, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mac lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mac throws a series of punches but Porunov moves out of range.
Markus Mac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Porunov needs to keep his hands up - Mac had a free shot at his head there.
Porunov misses with a straight left.
Mac throws a series of punches but Porunov avoids them all with ease.
Mac lands a glancing blow to the side of Porunov's head.

Porunov shoots in but no luck this time.
Porunov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Porunov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mac swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Porunov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mac is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mac has escaped and now he's on top!
Mac won't allow Porunov to sweep him here.

Mac gets to his feet - Porunov follows without any prompting.

Porunov seems to be working for a kimura but Mac defends the submission attempt.

Porunov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mac has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mac tries to kick Porunov off but Porunov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Porunov tries to stand and escape but Mac actually recovers to full guard.
Mac wants to stand but Porunov is controlling the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Porunov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Markus Mac will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Porunov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mac but Mac pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Porunov dives in and grabs Mac's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mac pushes down on Porunov's head and hops out.
Porunov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mac defends it nicely.
Markus Mac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilya Porunov.
Porunov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Porunov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mac sprawls well. Mac wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Porunov gets slowly back to his feet.

Porunov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mac avoids it really well and circles away.

Porunov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mac sprawls well. Mac wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Porunov gets slowly back to his feet.

Porunov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mac is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Porunov to the mat. Porunov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mac wants to stand and escape but instead Porunov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Porunov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mac kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Markus Mac is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mac takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mac, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
