The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richard looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

McCann wants to pass the guard but Richard is keeping the position.

Richard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McCann stacks Richard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McCann!

McCann decides to stand up, so the ref orders Richard to his feet.

McCann lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
McCann tests Richard's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McCann scores with a sloppy right hand. Richard should have avoided that one.

Richard swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McCann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Richard swivels and escapes.
McCann is trying hard to land a takedown here. Richard sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McCann fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Richard counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

McCann dives in and grabs Richard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Richard pushes down on McCann's head and hops out.

McCann shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Richard pinned against the cage. Richard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Richard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

McCann manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Richard on his heels. He'll look to pass Richard's guard now, I'm sure.
McCann wanted to stand there but Richard had control of the position.

McCann throws a body punch but Richard moves out of range.
McCann shoots in for a takedown but Richard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Duke Richard.
McCann misses with a hook. Richard ducked under it nicely.

McCann is pressed up against the cage. Richard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McCann down to the mat. McCann avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
