The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sergeyevich displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

It looks like david torres has been cut.
torres shoots for a double leg takedown but Sergeyevich sprawls well. He's pushed torres's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sergeyevich throws a head kick but torres moves out of range.
torres takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and torres counters with a left to the body.

Sergeyevich drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

torres is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
torres utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
torres is trying to control the position from the bottom.

torres is breathing heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sergeyevich accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sergeyevich thows a big elbow that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sergeyevich wants to pass the guard but torres is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sergeyevich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sergeyevich gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sergeyevich tries to strike from the bottom.
torres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sergeyevich swivels though and keeps the full guard.
