The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Willis.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Josten, right into the meat.
Willis misses the jab.

Josten gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Willis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Josten gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Willis wants to stall.

Josten breaks the clinch.
Willis thows a body shot but no joy.
Josten goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Erik Josten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Willis throws out a powerful jab.

and Willis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Josten ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

No joy there for Willis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Josten tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Willis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Josten.

Josten clinches up with Willis and pushes him back against the cage.

Willis is breathing heavily.
Willis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Josten walks away with a smile on his face. Willis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Willis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Josten scores with a jab to the body.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Josten decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Willis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Willis seems to have got his legs back now.

Josten rushes Willis and presses him up against the cage.

Willis blocks a head kick by Josten.
Josten tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Willis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Josten has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The crowd are getting on Josten's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Josten lands with a light punch inside.
Willis swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Josten lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Josten breaks the clinch.
Josten throws a powerful right kick. Willis tried to block low but the kick was high! Willis was taken right off of his feet! Josten jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
