Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Vonstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeburdiah Zappatista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vonstein comes to the cage accompanied by Seether - Remedy. Zappatista comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kanye West - Runaway kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Vonstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zeburdiah Zappatista!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zappatista tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Zappatista scores a takedown into full mount!
Vonstein is trying to escape the mount.
Zappatista throwing strikes here but Vonstein is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zappatista lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Zappatista looking to ground and pound but Vonstein is blocking nicely.
Vonstein sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Zappatista has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vonstein's face.

Vonstein bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Vonstein is looking to work some ground and pound but Zappatista has wrist control.

Vonstein is pushing down on Zappatista's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zappatista is fighting to maintain full guard but Vonstein has managed to sneak the leg through.

Vonstein is fighting to break Zappatista's control of his arms but Zappatista is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Vonstein tries to free his leg and advance position but Zappatista is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vonstein distracts Zappatista with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Zappatista is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zeburdiah Zappatista will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vonstein fails with a takedown attempt.

Zappatista bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vonstein tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zappatista wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vonstein gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Vonstein makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vonstein.
Vonstein keeping moving, preventing Zappatista from controlling successfully.

Vonstein has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Zappatista is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Vonstein.

Vonstein is looking for a sweep.
Vonstein manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Zappatista has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vonstein is working away from the top position though.
Vonstein passes to side control.
Vonstein looks up at the clock and then as Zappatista takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vonstein smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vonstein cracks Zappatista with a big right hand but Zappatista just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Zappatista gets back to half guard.
Zappatista is refusing to be controlled, as Vonstein sits in half guard.
Vonstein wants to pass the guard but Zappatista is defending well.
Vonstein is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Vonstein is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vonstein fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Vonstein lands a heavy elbow.
Zappatista is squirming around, avoiding Vonstein's attempts to control the action.
Vonstein throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Zappatista is in a horrible position here. Vonstein smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Vonstein has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vonstein misses with a head shot.
Zappatista takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Vonstein's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drake Vonstein!
