PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Friar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and terry England (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friar comes to the cage accompanied by Combine Harvester. England comes into a darkened arena with his song building. rockstar kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! terry England will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, terry England!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with England but England pushes him off and we're back to square one.
England looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
England stuffs the takedown attempt from Friar. Friar gets slowly back to his feet.
Friar shoots for a double leg takedown but England sprawls well. He's pushed Friar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Friar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Horrible takedown by Friar or perhaps it was just good defense by England which made him look bad.

England gets the takedown into side control.
Friar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but England wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Friar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Friar manages to work his way to half guard, despite England's best efforts.
Friar wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Friar regains full guard. Nicely done.

England avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Friar manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Friar is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. England is in real trouble.

England defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Friar's arms.

Friar has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, England has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

England is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Friar off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

England is in a bad position with Friar working for a choke. England manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Friar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. England gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Friar has his foot on England's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. England works his way back into a safe position though.

Friar looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but England is defending well. Friar quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! England has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Friar celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
