PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Krayzie Bone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Burkshire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bone comes to the cage accompanied by Thuggish Ruggish Bone. Burkshire has chosen It's a Fight - Three 6 Mafia as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Krayzie Bone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nigel Burkshire!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bone stuffs the takedown attempt from Burkshire. Burkshire gets slowly back to his feet.
Burkshire looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bone throws a hook to the side of Burkshire's head but Burkshire sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Burkshire tries to close the distance and clinch but Bone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bone.
Burkshire swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A combination from Burkshire does no damage.

Bone gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bone pulls Burkshire in close to prevent any damage.

Burkshire drops back looking for a leg! Bone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bone manages to kick Burkshire off! Burkshire jumps back into Bone's guard.

Burkshire stops Bone from standing up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bone holds on and takes a little breather.
Burkshire is looking to work some ground and pound but Bone has wrist control.
Bone seems keen to control Burkshire's posture.
Burkshire slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burkshire postures up in Bone's guard and throws a big left but Bone blocks it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Burkshire is looking to clinch but Bone is avoiding it.
Burkshire misses with a series of wild punches.
Bone misses with a wild combination.

Burkshire scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Burkshire has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burkshire looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Bone is avoiding damage well.

Burkshire controls the position from side control.
Burkshire throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Bone gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Bone wants to hold on but Burkshire pushes him away.
Bone is bucking up trying to escape but Burkshire cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Bone tries to reverse the position but Burkshire maintains control.

Burkshire is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bone to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bone shrugs it off.

Bone is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burkshire thowing shots but they're missing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bone is squirming around, avoiding Burkshire's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nigel Burkshire dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Burkshire tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burkshire has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Burkshire throws a low kick but Bone avoids it.
Burkshire ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burkshire looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Burkshire blocks a jab.
Bone misses with a wild body shot.
Bone takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A nice inside leg kick there by Burkshire. That's going to slow Bone down.

Nice defenses there by Burkshire.
Burkshire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Burkshire walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Burkshire tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bone paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bone tries to keep at a distance but Burkshire has taken the fight into the clinch.

Burkshire manages to break the clinch.

Burkshire darts in and clinches Bone up against the cage.
Bone has had enough of the clinch but Burkshire keeps him there for the moment.
Burkshire will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bone up against the cage.

Bone drags the fight down to the ground.
Burkshire is pushing down on Bone's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bone is fighting to maintain full guard but Burkshire has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bone trying to hold on to Burkshire's head to control him but Burkshire postures up.
Bone holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burkshire throwing shots but Bone is blocking nicely.

Still in half guard, Burkshire seems content to control.
Bone trying to hold on to Burkshire's head to control him but Burkshire postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Krayzie Bone.
Bone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Burkshire throws a right and a left that both miss.
Krayzie Bone is winning the standup battle so far.
Burkshire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Burkshire looks to land a left hand but Bone moved out of range nicely.
Burkshire fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Burkshire doesn't manage to clinch there - Bone circles away.
Burkshire wants to clinch but Bone slips to the side
letting Bone counter with a right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burkshire tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bone avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burkshire misses with a right hand
and Bone counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bone fails to land with a series of punches.
Bone fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Burkshire tries to close the distance and clinch but Bone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burkshire.
Burkshire is breathing heavily.
A jab from Burkshire finds it's way through Bone's defenses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Krayzie Bone will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Burkshire manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bone on his heels. He'll look to pass Bone's guard now, I'm sure.
Bone tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bone is trying to control the position but Burkshire postures up.

Bone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bone tries to get out of the position.
Burkshire advances to half guard.
Bone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Burkshire seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Burkshire thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bone's head.
Burkshire is keen to just control but Bone is a slippery customer.

Bone keeping control of the position.
Burkshire missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Burkshire looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Burkshire throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Burkshire lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Burkshire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bone is just riding it out for now. Burkshire eventually gives up the hold.
Burkshire prevents Bone from improving his position.
Burkshire is looking to take a break and control but Bone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bone is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Burkshire is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Burkshire.
Burkshire uses his free foot to push down on Bone's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bone.
Burkshire is in the full mount, landing strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burkshire thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Burkshire unloads with some shots from mount but Bone bucks and avoids them well.
Burkshire throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Nigel Burkshire has got the better of the ground game so far.

Burkshire misses with a head shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Burkshire has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bone's face.
Bone is trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nigel Burkshire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Burkshire has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
