Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Watkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teitur Gunnarsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watkins shoots in for a takedown but Gunnarsson shows good takedown defense.
Watkins has his takedown stuffed
enabling Gunnarsson to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Matthew Watkins has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Watkins. Gunnarsson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Watkins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gunnarsson counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Watkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gunnarsson lands a big head kick that sends Watkins tumbling to the mat! Gunnarsson takes a step backwards and waves Watkins back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Matthew Watkins's cut is getting worse.
Gunnarsson and Watkins are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Gunnarsson throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Watkins into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Gunnarsson knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Teitur Gunnarsson!
After the fight, Teitur Gunnarsson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
